Garland Henderson was born on December 9, 1898. He was the son of George W. Henderson.      He served in WW I. According to the Siler City Grit (2/27/1919) he had returned to Silk Hope from France. By 3/6/1919 he was working in Greensboro for an Express Company. Garland Henderson married Beatrice Williams on December 21, 1919 at Dothon, Houston County, AL. Garland Henderson died on July 10, 1983 at age 84. He was buried at Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, Portsmouth County, VA.

Sanky Henderson was the daughter of Hezekiah Henry "Young Kiah" Henderson and Sallie J. Durham.
