Josie Mary Self married Hester Thomas, son of William Mounce and Mary A L Cox, on October 4, 1896 at Pike County, AR. [He was 17. She was 21. Both people lived in Pike County prior to the marriage. A. C. Parker signed as security on a $100 marriage bond. The bond was paid to the Pike County school fund].       She is listed in dwelling 182 of Self Creek Township in the 1900 Pike County AR Census. She is listed with her husband, Hester Thomas (age 21) and two children. She is shown as being married for 3 years. The couple has had 2 children both of whom were living at the time of the census. The children are Grace E. (age 2) and Winnie F. (age 7 months). She is listed in dwelling 6, Self Creek township in the 1910 Pike County AR Census. She is listed with her husband, Hester (age 31) and five children: Gracie (age 12), Winnie (age 10), Ada (age 7), Hiram (age 5) and Harold (age 2). The census indicates she has been married once for 13 years and that five of her six children are living. Josie and Hester lived in Daisy which is right out of Kirby. He was a school teacher. After they had six children he got on a horse and rode off never seen or heard from since. Josie stayed close to her parents so they could help her. If Hester left as mentioned above it was after the 1910 census was taken. Josie Mary Self died on June 26, 1956 at El Paso, El Paso County, TX, at age 81. [Date from family Bible in possession of grand-daughter.].

Dora Self married William Andrew Henry, son of Pleasant Jasper Henry and Mary Cannon, on July 20, 1897 at Kirby, Pike County, AR. [He was 20. She was 20. Both people were living in Pike County prior to the marriage. Her obituary indicates she was married to Mr. W. A. Henry July 18 1897 in Kirby, Arkansas. Security for the $100 marriage bond was signed by L. E. Little. The bond was paid to the Pike County school fund.].      There is no mention of the family in Pike County Records after the marriage entry. From other information available it is known that the family moved to Texas between 1900 and 1901. Dora Self died on February 19, 1952 at Memphis, Hall County, TX, at age 74. [Her Death Certificate is #6931. Arrangement Memorandum from Spicer Funeral Home showed her mother was Ellen Parker and her father was Billy Self. It showed her children : Jesse Elmer, Henry, Paul, Luther Burton, Delvin Curtis, Floyd, Mrs Roy Thompson and Mrs. W. O. Thomas. She had 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was survived by a brother, W. L. Self and a sister, Mrs. Josie Thomas. ]. She was buried at Memphis, Hall County, TX.

The census indicates they were married within the last year.      She is listed in dwelling 133, Antoine Township in the 1901 Pike County, AR Census. She is shown with her husband, Luther E. (age 31) and four children: Evie L. (age 9), Willie (age 6), Charley (age 4) and Claud (age 2). The census indicates she has been married once for nine years and that all four of her children are living. LouAda Self died in 1920 at Pecan Gap, Delta County, TX.      GREENVILLE, TEXAS May 20 1993      Discussion between Claude E. Little ( Lou Ada Self is his Mother) and Sallie Henry.      Mr. Little said Ellen Parker was Mother and Billy Self was Father of Dora and Lou Ada Self. Ellen Parker was from the Parker Tribe in Ark. This was an Indian tribe in Arkansas. Bonnie Parker ( Bonnie & Clyde) was from the Parker Tribe also. Billy Self was a deputy constable in Kirby, Ark. of Pike County. Died when he was about 35 years old. Ellen Parker Self lived with Danny Self in Kirby, Pike, Ark until she died. Billy Self died before they moved to Texas. Ellen and Billy had 3 girls and 2 boys. Josie, Dora, Louada, Lee and Danny. Dora and Louada moved to Texas. Danny stayed in Kirby with Mother. Did not say what happened to Lee. He did mentioned an accomplished muscian and taught music. I think he was talking about Lee. Josie had four boys and two girls. Hiram Thomas joined the Army when he was fifteen and make it a career. Harold died about 1990. Claude, Odell, Charlie, Willie, Bud Little, all sons of Lou Ada Self Little. Claude said Odells son Dr. Dwayne L Little (about 53 years old) was professor at Point Loma College, Pasadena, Ca. 92107 had made a book on the family. Also Charley's son Don W. Little has a son who he did not remember his name also working on the genealogy. He gave me a card W. Scott Little Attorny at Law, said this was his brother and I could get his name from him.

Hiram Reginald Thomas married Stella Mary Gutowski, daughter of Walter Gutowski and Marianna Rychowska, on September 16, 1944 at Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, NM, USA. Hiram Reginald Thomas died in October, 1996 at Austin, Travis County, TX, at age 92.

He was the son of William Andrew Henry and Dora Self. Vester Paul Henry married Lora Hooten on June 20, 1926 at Hunt County, TX. [they actually married in Delta County but the marriage certificate indicates Hunt County]. Vester Paul Henry died on April 19, 1954 at Dallas, Dallas County, TX, at age 52. [Death Certificate Registars File No. 1491 Marriage Certificate June 20, 1926 witnessed by W. J Hudson Justice of the Peace, Delta County.]. He was buried at Klondike, Delta County, TX.

[they actually married in Delta County but the marriage certificate indicates Hunt County]. Lora Hooten died on December 17, 1997 at Mesquite, Dallas County, TX, at age 90. She was buried at New Klondike Cemetery, Klondike, Delta County, TX.

Dallas Henry died in 1903. He was born in 1903. He was the son of William Andrew Henry and Dora Self.

"Luther Burton Henry son of William Andrew Henry and Dora Self Henry . Last living child. He was born Jan 29 1905 in Kirby, Ark. married Dec 3 1932 in Roosevelt, Ok. to Daisy Bock. Reason he was born in Ark was his mother, Dora, wanted to be with her mother. Burton said they lived in Cooper, Texas at that time. Burton went to Freeman Self's (W. Lee Self who is Dora brother) in Roosevelt to pull cotton. After he finished he stayed and lived with them. W. A. and Dora was living in Memphis at that time. He would go and visit every once in a while. He met Daisy in Roosevelt and that is where they married. W. A.'s great great grandmother was a full blood Indian. In 1910 or 1911 W. A. received a letter from Okla. saying he had enough Indian blood to get free land. He thought it was a joke so he did not go and threw the letter away. When W. A. was six weeks old when his mother died and he lived with different people the rest of his life. W. A. and Dora and Children went to Mexico about 1911 stayed about a year. Reason he remembered was he did not get to start to school when he turned seven but had to wait until they returned to Texas. He started to school at Horton, Texas. Dallas, son born between Paul and Burton. Ellen Parker Self lived wi th W. A and Dora in Memphis. Died about 1928 or 1929, buried at Lakeview Cemetery etery. Ellen died before Burton and Daisy were married. When Ellen went to live with W. A. and Dora, Danny, Dora's brother went to live with W. Lee Self in Roosevelt, Okla. Danny was about 30 years old at that time and lived with Lee until he died. W. A. and Dora are buried at Memphis Cemetery. They belonged to the Holiness Church. Burton, Roberta and Curtis were Church of Christ. Aunt Linde (W.A's sister Malinda) married Tom Gillham. Had three sons, Charlie who is dead, Dee and Dennis who live in Commerce. W. A. and Dora had a 50th wedding party at Memphis. Pictures were taken." By Burton Henry as told to Sallie Henry. Luther Burton Henry was born on January 29, 1905 at Kirby, Pike County, AR. He was the son of William Andrew Henry and Dora Self. Luther Burton Henry married Daisy Bock on December 3, 1932 at Roosevelt, Kiowa County, OK. Luther Burton Henry died on October 15, 1997 at Tishmingo County, OK, at age 92. He was buried at Tishmingo County, OK.

Edith Lora Henry was born on November 22, 1907 at Paris, Lamar County, TX. She was the daughter of William Andrew Henry and Dora Self. Edith Lora Henry married Olin S. Callahan on February 14, 1940 at Altus, Jackson County, OK. Edith Lora Henry died on November 27, 1982 at Memphis, Hall County, TX, at age 75. She was buried at Memphis, Hall County, TX.

He was buried at Fort Worth, Tarrant County, TX.

Audrey Othell Henry died on October 14, 1983 at Tahiequah, Cherokee County, OK, at age 64. She was buried at Tahiequah, Cherokee County, OK.
