Pike County, Arkansas and recorded in Abstract of Title Book Prior to 1890

Will Book 1 page 115. Last Will and Testament of Thomas McFarling deceased   
of Pike County, Arkansas. Dated November 7, 1861. Recorded December 5, 1861. 
He bequeaths to his wife Nancy McFarling, his son Benjamin McFarling and to  
his daughters Mary T. Holland and Sarah Womack certain personal property and 
"all my remaining property consisting of Eighty acres of land adjoining N.B. 
Cumby on the West" and certain personal property "to be sold at public       
auction and the proceeds to be equally divided among the children. I request 
my son Benjamin F. McFarling to maintain and take care of his mother Nancy   
McFarling during her lifetime and hold all the above mentioned is for the    
said Nancy McFarling to have one half of said plantation if she choose to do 
so, and the said land or plantation to belong to the said Benjamin F.        
McFarling at the death of his mother Nancy McFarling and lastly after paying 
all my just debts, what money or proceeds, to be equally divided among the   
heirs in Arkansas. I hereby appoint D.A.B. Ragsdale sole executor of my last 
Will and Testament." The above instrument consisting of one sheet was now    
here subscribed by Thomas McFarling the testator in the presence of each of  
us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last Will and          
Testament and we at his request sign(ed) our names hereto as attesting       
witnesses. F.J. McFarling (and) B.J. Roberson of same county and state. In   
Vacation. December 3, 1861. Before W.J. Kelley clerk, came F.J. McFarling    
and being first duly sworn deposes and says that Thomas McFarling now        
deceased did subscribe his name in my presence to the end of the Will now    
before me &c. and declaring the same to be his last Will and Testament he    
being to the best of my judgement of sound and desposing mind and that I     
subscribed my name &c. to the same as a subscribing witness at the instance  
and request of said McFarling and in the presence of B.J. Roberson who was   
also a subscribing witness. Came also D.D. Jones and first being duly sworn  
deposes and say that he has examined the signature of B.J. Roberson on which 
is signed at the end of the Will of Thomas McFarling deceased as subscribing 
witness thereto &c. and am satisfied from my knowledge of, that the signture 
&c. is genuine and I also state that the said B.J. Roberson is at this time  
gone or started to the seat of War in Missouri or elsewhere. Signature of    
Circuit Clerk (William J. Kelley) and seal of Court affixed.
