Greetings from Dallas, TX

My name is Dan Hale and am a descendant of a Viven (Vivien) Beck born 1791
in Loudoun county VA. My Viven was apparently the son of Samuel Beck who
was the son of Vivien and Tabitha Beck. It would seem likely that this
Vivien Beck was the son of Edward and Sarah Buckman Beck but I have no
proof of this yet ...

By the way my Viven eventually came to Montgomery county AR and married a
Mrs. Sarah "Sally" (Mobley) McDonald in 1831. I'm descended through their
daughter Sarah.

Hope we find something soon, best of luck.

Vivian Beck was born in Loudoun County, Virginia in 1791. He enlisted in
the U. S. Army on June 4, 1812 in Clarksburg, Virginia. He was discharged
on June 4, 1817 in Pass Christian, Mississippi after serving for five
years. He served in the 12th Infantry Regiment, which became the 8th
Infantry Regiment after the end of the War of 1812. I have a copy of his
War of 1812 pension file. In the pension file and in the service journal
his name is spelled as Viven and Vivan.

After his discharge from the service he lived in Quachita Parish, Louisiana
for a while and married Rebecca McMahan on July 4, 1825. After the death of
Rebecca he married Sarah Mobley McDonald the widow of Micajah McDonald on
October 16, 1831 in Clark County, Arkansas. Vivian Beck and Sarah Mobley
McDonald were the parents of five children. The twins David and Jonathan
Vivian were born June 21, 1832. Sarah was born in 1835, Jacob Preston was
born in January 1837 and James Sloan was born in April 1839.

Vivian Beck died sometime after 1872, possibly in Polk County, Arkansas or
Montgomery County, Arkansas.

I am seeking more information on Vivian Beck. Who were his parents? Did
Vivian and Rebecca have children before Rebecca's death about 1830?

I descend from Vivian Beck and Sarah Mobley McDonald through their son
David M. Beck and Elizabeth Christopher.

Subject: [BECK] Vivian Beck born 1791 in Loudoun County Virginia
Date: Mon, 21 Apr 2003 20:30:36 -0500

I am seeking more information on my great great grandfather Vivian Beck who
was born in Loudoun County, Virginia in 1791. He enlisted in the U. S. Army
on June 4, 1812 in Clarksburg, Virginia. He was discharged on June 4, 1817
in Pass Christian, Mississippi after serving for five years. He served in
the 12th Infantry Regiment, which became the 8th Infantry Regiment after
the end of the War of 1812. I have a copy of his War of 1812 pension file.
In the pension file and in the service journal his name is spelled as Viven
and Vivan.

The twins David (married
Elizabeth Christopher) and Jonathan Vivian (married Elizabeth C. Hendricks)
were born June 21, 1832. Sarah (married first Gross Lamb and second Moses
Bates )was born in 1835, Jacob Preston (married first Nancy Anderson,
second Nancy Collier) was born in January 1837 and James Sloan (married
Lucy Cox) was born in April 1839.

I am seeking more information on Vivian Beck. Who were his parents? Did
Vivian and Rebecca have children before Rebecca's death about 1830?

I descend from Vivian Beck and Sarah Mobley McDonald through their son
David M. Beck and Elizabeth Christopher.
