Samuel Bittick to Jesse Bittick: Deed of Gift

Know All Men By These Presents:
That, this Indenture, made this twenty-fourth day of March in the year of
our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty six; between Samuel
Bittick of the Territory of Arkansas and County of Clark, of the one part;
and Jesse Bittick of the County and Territory, aforesaid, of the other
part.
Whereas, the said Samuel Bittick, being the father of the said Jesse
Bittick, by reason of his age and infirmities, in consideration of the
natural love and affection which I have and bear for my son, Jesse Bittick,
and also for divers other good causes and considerations, me, the said
Samuel Bittick, hereunto have given and granted, and confirmed and by these
presents, do give, grant, and confirm unto the said Jesse Bittick, three
head of horses, called by the names - dick, and roane, and hos, and also
seven cows and calves and four heifers and ten steers, and also one set of
turners tools, to have and to hold, and enjoy all singular, the said horses
and cattle and tools, aforesaid, unto the said Jesse Bittick, his
executors, adminstrators, and assignes, to the only proper use and behoof
of, forever; and I, the said Samuel Bittick, all and singular, the said
horses, cattle, and tools, to the said Jesse Bittick, his executors,
administrators, and assigns against me, the said Samuel Bittick, my
executors and administrators, and all and every other person or persons,
whatsoever, shall and will warrant and defend, by these presents, of all
and singular, put the said Jesse Bittick in full possession, by delivering
to him the above mentioned horses, cattle, and tools, at the time of the
sealing and delivering of these presents hereby granted.
Whereunto, I have set my hand and seal, this 24th day of March, 1826.

William Trimble Esq. presented the Last Will and Testament of Richard Wood,
deceased, which was proven by the subscribing witnesses before the courts,
and letters testamentary ordered to be granted to the executors named in
said Will by their entering with bond and security in the penal sum of two
thousand dollars.

John Wood, surviving Executor of the last will and Testament of Richard
Wood, deceased, this day produced in Open Court a receipt signed by Polly
Bittick, late Polly Wood, and Jess Bittick her husband, one of the heirs of
Richard Wood, deceased, for the sum of One hundred and Seventy nine
dollars, which was allowed and Ordered to be filed as a credit in favor of
said Executor against the estate of said Richard Wood, deceased.

On motion, it is ordered that Letters of Administration on the Estate of
Richard Wood, deceased, be granted unto John Wilson upon his executing Bond
in the Clerk's office of this Court with William Gentry, James Ward and
James G. Melson, as his securities, in the penal sum of fourteen hundred
dollars, conditioned as the Law directs.
Whereupon the said John Wilson was qualified as the Law directs.
Ordered that Court adjourn until nine o'clock tomorrow morning.

Richard Wood, deceased, was produced in our said Court by John Wilson,
appointing Jacob Wood and John Wood, executors, which said Will is duly
proven and stands of Record in this Court and the said executors having
deceased.
Therefore, on motion of the said John Wilson, letters testamentary were
granted to him on the estate of the said Richard Wood, deceased.
Whereof, there is hereby granted unto the said John Wilson, as executor of
the Last Will and Testament of Richard Wood, deceased, according to the
true intent and meaning thereof, ... to administer all and singular the
good(s), chattels, rights, credits, --------- and effects of the said
Richard Wood, deceased, according to law.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand as clerk and affixed the
seal of Office, this 14th day of July, A.D. 1834, and of the Independance
of the United States, the fifty ninth.

Probate Book 1 page 271. In Vacation. March 29th 1859. Edwin Lynn petitions
and states and represents that on the 26th day of March 1859 he took
letters of administration on the estate of Jesse Bittick deceased &c. That
all the immediate heirs are of age, that there is personal property
belonging to said estate &c., etc., and prays for an order to sell said
personal property &c. The prayer of the petitioner is granted by the Court.
Probate Book 1 page 298. April Term 1859. Administrator presents bond for
$1600 and the same is by the Court approved. Probate Book C page 133. July
Term 1875. A.W. Davis administrator de bonis non of said (estate) files his
final account current and settlement. The same is in all things confirmed
by the Court and the administrator de bonis non is discharged.
