Will of Elias Huffman

I, Elias Huffman, a farmer of the County of Clark and State of Arkansas,
make this my last Will. I give and devise and bequeath my estate and
property real and personal as follows, that is to say.
1st. I Will and (devise) to my lawful wife Sarah Huffman one acre of land
commencing at the corner of lot 6 and extending to corner of lot 8
embracing one square acre and known as lot 7 as (per) survey and (plat)
drawn by E.G. Fairbain, the above lot being and lying in the north half of
the north west quarter of Section 33 in township nine, South of Range
twenty west, in the vicinity of Gurdon, County of Clark, State of Arkansas
with all the improvements thereunto belonging, with all the household
kitchen furniture, also one house, two (milk) cows and twelve months
provisions, the same to be hers during her natural life time and at the
deease to fall back to be equally divided between my lawful heirs.
2nd. I Will and bequeath to my daughter Mary M. Yardley the sum of five
dollars in lawful money of the United States.
3rd. I Will and bequeath to my son Thomas Huffman the sum of one Hundred
and thirty one dollars and twenty five cents in lawful money of the United
States.
4th. It is my Will and request that (the) balance of my property be equally
divided between my lawful heirs, to wit, of my sons William H. Huffman's
heirs, Robt. C. Huffman, and my daughter Mariah J. Bolt, Josephine Stewart
and Susan C. Huffman, and I do hereby appoint Robt. C. Huffman one of my
lawful heirs and citizen of the County of Clark and State of Arkansas and
by occupation a farmer, Executor of this my last Will. In witness whereof I
have signed and Sealed and Published and declare this instrument as my Will
at my residence in the County of Clark and State of Arkansas on this the 13
day of September, 1879.

Be it remembered that on this the 28 day of November A.D. 1881, before the
undersigned Clerk of the Clark County Probate Court within and for the
County, aforesaid, personally came and appeared J.S. Dodgen, Wm. McLelland
and Wm. Jasper Stafford, who being duly sworn depose and say, that we saw
Elias Huffman Sign the foregoing Will on the 13th day of Sept. 1879, He,
the said Elias Huffman at the time declaring the same to be his last Will
and Testament, and that we at the request of the Testator, his presence and
in the presence of each other, Signed our names as attesting Witnesses
thereto, and we verily believe that the Said Testator was of sound mind and
disposing memory.

Gurdon Gleanings. Mr. Elias Huffman is quite ill. He is one of Clark
County's old reliable citizens. Southern Standard, November 5, 1881, page
2. column 3. Gurdon Gleanings. Mr. Elias Huffman, one of the early settlers
of Clark County, after a very painful illness, died on November 11, at 8:00
p.m. of malarial fever; he leaves a wife and several children to mourn the
