Clark County Court in Vacation. January 20th 1834. Territory of Arkansas,
Clark County, Sct. This day came Mary Rose, widow and relict of John Rose,
deceased, in her proper person, to my office and on her motion, Letters of
Administration is granted her on the estate of her late husband, John Rose,
deceased, upon her entering into bond with Henry T. Lightfoot and Ambrose
Frier, as her securities, in the penal sum of Four hundred dollars,
conditioned as the law directs, which she accordingly done, and thereupon
took the oath prescribed by law. Whereupon, on motion of the said Mary
Rose, administratrix of the estate of John Rose, deceased, I do hereby
appoint James Sloan, Jacob Wells and William Pettyjohn, appraisers to
appraise the slaves, if any, and other personal estate of John Rose,
deceased, or as much thereof as may be produced to them by the said

of John Rose), in Clark County, Arkansas Territory, is missing. An index
entry for this marriage, providing their names, volume and page number, is
found in the Clark County, Arkansas marriage index. The marriage record was
in Book A original page 135. They were married January 10, 1835.

April 19, 1841. Mary H. Rounds vs. Lymen F. Rounds. Petition for Divorce.
... "She the said Mary H. Rounds was lawfully married to and with the said
Lymen F. Rounds on or about the 10th day of January 1835 in the County of
Clark aforesaid, and that the said Lymen F. on or about the 29th day of
October A.D. 1837, willfully deserted and absented himself from the said
Mary H. without any reasonable cause whatsoever" ... "further ordered that
a copy of the order be published in the Washington Telegraph a newspaper
printed in this State ..." Clark County, Arkansas Chancery Record B,

John Swanson Yarbrough, Jr., born March 27, 1819, Arkansas, married April
22, 1841, Mary Rose Rounds, in Clark Co., Ark., died February 9, 1849 from

Clark County Probate Court April Term 1842. April 14, 1842. This day came
Henry T. Lightfoot and presented a petition praying that Sandford R. Babbit
be appointed Guardian of Nancy Rose and Wilson L. Rounds minor orphans, and
due consideration thereof being had by the Court, it is ordered that the
said Sanford R. Babbit be and he is hereby appointed guardian of the said
Nancy Rose and Wilson L. Rounds and it is further ordered that he give bond
in the sum of two hundred dollars with good and sufficient security
conditioned according to law, and thereupon came the said Sandford R.
Babbit and Executed his bond for the sum of two hundred dollars,
conditioned according to law with Benjamin S. Duncan and Henry T. Lightfoot
as his security, which is approved of by the Court. Clark County, Arkansas
