August 31st 1858. In Vacation. F.G. Wilson states and represents that he has this day taken letters of administration on the estate of John Wilson who lately departed this life in Pike County, Arkansas intestate; that there is considerable personal property liable to be wasted; that the indebtedness of said Estate is not very considerable but that he believes speedy sale and proper disposition of said estate would be advantageous to each creditor and heirs &c. He therefore prays for an order to sell said property at public sale October 22, 1858. The prayer of the petitioner is granted. Probate Book 1 page 212. October Term 1858. Administrator's bond for $8000 presented and approved. Probate Book 1 page 385. October Term 1859. Administrator by his attorney presents his petition verified by affidavit of himself and of Wm. Box stating and representing that it is necessary to make sale of the negroes and lands of said Estate for distribution among the heirs &c. There are 12 heirs, to wit: Jeremiah Cox and his wife Martha alias Martha Cox (Wilson) age 36; Francis Wilson age 34; Joshua Wilson age 29; Anderson Wilson age 28; John Wilson age 26; Richard Wilson age 25; Henry Moore and wife Holly alias Holly Wilson age 23; William Kinney and wife Lucy alias Lucy Wilson age 24; Martha Davis the only issue of Elisa Davis alias Elisa Wilson, deceased wife of James Davis; Martin Wilson age 19; Joseph Wilson age 15; and Andrew J. Wilson age 13 years. (Three) negroes and the following tract(s) of land belong to said Estate, to wit: (the) West 1/2 (of the) Southwest 1/4, (the) Northeast 1/4 (of the) Southwest 1/4, and (the) Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 (of) Section 21, Township 6, Range 23, 160 acres in Pike County, Arkansas. That said property cannot be divided and prays for an order to sell the same. The Court grants the petitioner's prayer; sale to be public at Court House door &c., 20 days notice &c., Ect. Probate Book 1 page 454. January Term 1860. Administrator files report of sale by his attorney as per instructions of this Court. That he sold the same November 26, 1859 to Wm. A. (Wilson) & Martin Wilson for $480, and the negroes for $2697.00.
