W.A. Barnett

                         W.A. Barnett Died Tuesday                           
W.A. (Uncle Bill) Barnett, aged 87, for many years a resident of this place, 
and a familiar figure to practically all the older people of this county,    
died in a Little Rock hospital Tuesday (November 7, 1939), after several     
months of serious illness.                                                   
Deceased was born in Corinth, Mississippi and came to this county at an      
early age. He followed the carpentry and painter's trade for many years;     
having been in the employ of many local citizens at various times in one or  
more of these capacities.                                                    
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.A. Mansfield of Benton and Mrs. Cora 
Jones of Sebastin, Texas. Also a host of other relatives and friends.        
Funeral services were conducted at the church of Christ here (Delight)       
Wednesday, with J.A. Copeland of Hope and Doyle Williams of Bills, Christian 
ministers, in charge. Burial was in the local cemetery.
