Aaron Hughes to John Hughes
Bill of Sale
County of Clark,
Know All Men By These Presents:
That, I, Aaron Hughes of the Territory and County, aforesaid, have this day
bargained and sold to John Hughes of the County & Territory, aforesaid, my
whole Stock of Cattle, the number I suppose to be in and about thirty head,
be the same more or less, together with four head of horses, and thirty head
of Hogs for the consideration of five Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by
the said John Hughes, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, and I,
Aaron Hughes, do in and for the above consideration, give, grant, bargain,
and sell unto the said John Hughes, all and every (one) of the above
mentioned Cattle, Horses, & Hogs, to have and to hold the same for his own
use and purposes.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 17th day of
Aaron (his x mark) Hughes (Seal)
Signed and sealed and delivered in the presence of us.
I, Thomas S. Drew, Deputy Clerk and Exofficio recorder in and for the County
of Clark, do certify that the foregoing Bill of Sale or Instrument of
Writing, is a true copy of the original which I found in this office.
Recorded this 23rd day July, 1824.
