Roland Hughitt to Henry Brewer

This Indenture made this the 29th day of September in the Year of Our Lord   
One Thousand Eight & forty between, Roland Hughitt of Hempstead County in    
the State of Arks. of the one part, and Henry Brewer of the County of Pike   
and State aforesaid, of the other part, witnesseth: that the said Rowland    
Hughitt for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred dollars current  
money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said Henry Brewer      
before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof, he   
the said Roland Hughitt doth hereby acknowledge, and from every part and     
parcel thereof, doth hereby acquit, exonerate, and discharge the said Henry  
Brewer, his heirs, executors, and administrators; he the said Roland Hughitt 
hath granted, bargained, Sold, aliened, enfcoffed (sp) and confirmed, and by 
the presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfcoff (sp) and confirm unto 
the said Henry Brewer, his heirs and assigns, all the South West quar. of    
South East and South qr. of South West Quarter of Section No. four in        
Township No. Nine South of Range No. Twenty six West, containing Eighty      
acres; Together with all and singular improvements, hereditaments, and       
appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining,    
and all the Estate right, title, and interest whatsoever of him, the said    
Rowland Hughitt, both at Law and Equity, of, in, and to the said Tract of    
Land, and premises hereby bargained and sold or ment (meant), mentioned, or  
intended hereby so to be, and every or any part or parcel thereof, to have   
and to hold the said Tract of Land as aforesaid, together with improvements, 
appurtenances, and all and singular other that premises hereby bargained and 
sold or meant, mentioned, or intended hereby, sold to be, and Every part and 
parcel thereof, with their and every of their appurtenances, unto the said   
Henry Brewer, his heirs and assigns forever, and to and for no other rise    
(otherwise) intent or purpose whatsoever, and the said Roland Hughitt for    
himself, his heirs, executors, and administrators, doth hereby covenant,     
grant, promise, and agree to and with the said Henry Brewer and his heirs,   
the said Tract of Land and premises hereby granted and bargained and soled   
(sold) and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances thereunto    
belonging to him the said Henry Brewer, his heirs and assigns, against him,  
the said Rowland Hughitt and his heirs and against all and every person or   
persons whatsoever claiming or to claim any right, title, or interest in and 
to the same or any part thereof; Shall and will hereafter warrant and        
forever defend by these presents.                                            
                                                                             
In witness whereof, I the said Rowland Hug(h)itt hath hereunto subscribed my

Be it remembered, that on this the 6th day of October 1840, personally came  
before me the undersigned justice of the peace, ______________, and          
acknowledged that he had signed the within deed for the use and purposes     
there in mentioned and contained. Given under my hand the day and date above
