The ministry of John H. Hile began in Dec. 1884 and ended Nov. 1885. Bro.
Hile preached every 4th Lord's day that health and weather would admit
dividing the time between Antioch and the congregation at New Hope, at which
place he organized a congregation of believers in Christ.

On Saturday before the 4th Lord's day in Oct. (1885) Bro. Hile began a
protracted meeting; during the first week of which Bro. J.R. Jones did most
of the preaching, and did it eloquently. The meeting, 2 weeks, with the work
for the year, closed with Bro. R.P. Threlkeld & W.R. Barnett preached at
intervals during the year.

A. Lamb being elected Eld(er). Sister Sallie Lamb who had been influenced to
engage in dancing became sorry and repented of the same and made her
acknowledgements to the Church through Bro. J.A. Lamb her brother in the
flesh.
