                  Arkansas, Arkadelphia, June 28th 1855

Sir:

This application is, as you will perceive, where the applicant has had a

warrant under the former act of Congress. I apprehend there will be no

difficulty in his obtaining a warrant for the residue under the recent act

of Congress.

I herein had a power of attorney annexed; this I did in consequence of some

published rumors that applications would not be regarded at the Pension

Office unless a power of attorney accompanied the application.

                            Respectfully yours,

                                H.B. Stuart
